A Closer look at the Crown Chakra The
Crown Chakra is our connection to the whole of creation. Aspects of this
wholeness are filtered, transformed and utilised by the rest of the Chakra
System. When the Crown Chakra looses its balance, a shadow is cast over the
whole system. There is a feeling that something is not quite right, Feelings of
alienation and depression, and of a weight descending hat makes one listless,
exhausted and prone to boredom, all signal a possible Crown Chakra imbalance.
Physically, apart from its links with the pituitary gland which it may subtly
energise, the Crown Chakra directly affects the functions of the higher brain,
the cerebrum. A lack of balance between the left and right hemispheres of the
brain can cause confusion and coordination difficulties both physically and
mentally.
When balanced the Crown Chakra increases the ability to understand
things in a wider context. This allows the individual to become more intuitive
and more likely to act appropriately, and thus success in action increases with
the expenditure of less effort. The mind becomes quieter and is able to focus on
its tasks. This smooth flow of energy makes meditative practices more
fulfilling. In these circumstances, the healing potential within the body is at
its greatest, stress can be released, and tissue repair quickened dramatically.
