Heart Chakra, when balanced gives a sense of calm , clear-sightedness and
tolerance of others. We know where we want to go and can hold our own ground as
well. When the Heart Chakra is out of balance it is easy to lose our own
understanding of our relationship with the world, becoming possessive or
obsessive, constantly seeking reassurance, experiencing self doubt and lack of
self worth. These imbalances can lead to cold, emotionless power seeking,
intolerance, prejudice and cruelty. On the other hand there can also be an
overwhelming sense of personal responsibility for others problems, leading to
desperate self-sacrifice and guilt that undermines all sense of self worth.
The Heart Chakra is a vital healing location where the swings of polarised
emotions, feelings, hopes and wishes can be evened out and a positive calm can
be restored in which to re-establish a life supporting relationship with the
world.

The Heart Chakra is located near the fifth thoracic vertebra.

Some of the physical disorders which might occur when this chakra is not
functioning to its full potential are high blood pressure, heart disease, lung
disease and asthma.

When this Chakra's energy is balanced is generates compassion, a desire to
nurture others and a growth towards unconditional love. This makes us outgoing,
friendly and puts us in touch with our feelings.
Excessive Energy at the Heart Chakra
Excessive energy here can make us demanding, over-critical, possessive,
moody, depressed and a master of unconditional love.
Deficient Energy at the Heart Chakra
Deficient energy here can create paranoia, indecisiveness, a desire to hang
on to objects or people, a fear of rejection and a need for constant
reassurance.
