A Closer look at the Third Eye (Brow) Chakra The
Third Eye Chakra's primary function is concerned with the understanding and
analysis of reality. The Third Eye Chakra is inward looking rather than
expressive in its nature. The eyes and the conscious workings of the brain are
directly related to the Third Eye Chakra, whose main function is to make sense
of the raw information received from the sense organs. It also works with memory
and planning, by receiving and analysing information from the remembered past
and the projected future. The Third Eye Chakra is the focus of our personality,
for our view of reality and who we really are and how we see ourselves in
relation to the universe.
When this Chakra looses its balance with the system
as a whole, the mind has a tendency to retreat from reality into the self
constructive realms of fantasy and delusion. The Third Eye Chakra needs
integrated balance and a firm grounded energy if it is to be of real use to us.
With an active but imbalanced Third Eye Chakra, it is possible to see visions,
receive messages from the subtle senses (like clairvoyance), and to be bombarded
by intriguing psychic information. Unless there is a balance and equal emphasis
on the energies of the root, sacral and solar plexus chakras, it is almost
impossible to determine what is valid and useful.

The Third Eye Chakra is located at the centre of the brow between the two
eyebrows.
Physical Disorders related to the Third Eye Chakra
Some of the physical disorders which might occur when this chakra is not
functioning to its full potential are headaches. eye problems, sinus problems,
catarrh, hay fever, sleeplessness, migraine and hormonal imbalances.
Balanced Energy at the Third Eye Chakra
When this Chakra's energy is balanced we become unattached to material
possessions, have no fear of death and are not preoccupied with fame, fortune or
worldly goods. Our latent psychic ability opens to give us the gifts of
telepathy, clairaudience, clairvoyance and access to past lives.
Excessive Energy at the Third Eye Chakra
Excessive energy here can lead to us becoming too proud, religiously
dogmatic, manipulative and an egomaniac.
Deficient Energy at the Third Eye Chakra
Deficient energy here can make us over-sensitive to the feelings of others,
non-assertive and unable to distinguish between the ego self and the higher
self.
