A Closer look at the Throat Chakra The
Throat Chakra is concerned with communication. It allows us to transmit our
thoughts, ideas and desires. It is also the means by which we express our
creativity. Sore throats and stiff necks can often be indications that there is
a problem with some level of communication. Often something is being held back
by force of will that would be better verbalised in some way, or a desire to
express individuality is also being stifled. Without this natural flow of
communicated energy travelling out into the world, other sorts of energies also
slow down and there is a danger of stagnation. At the Physical level, thyroid
activity may be disrupted, leading to states of either lethargy or
hyperactivity. Muscle stiffness in the neck, shoulders and jaw results in a lack
of energy flow in those areas. Chronic tension in the jaw can lead to headaches.
On an emotional level, Throat Chakra problems can lead to an inability to
express and feel emotions at a deeper level. This dissociation can lead to
withdrawal and isolation or, alternatively can create a chatterbox who doesn't
feel comfortable unless talking, but doesn't communicate any true feeling.

The Throat Chakra is located at the base of the neck.
Physical Disorders related to the Throat Chakra
Some of the physical disorders which might occur when this chakra is not
functioning to its full potential are exhaustion, digestive and weight problems,
thyroid problems, sore throats and throat infections, neck pain and pain in the
back of the head.
Balanced Energy at the Throat Chakra
When this Chakra's energy is balanced you will be centred, contented and will
make a good speaker/communicator, You may also be musically or artistically
inspired and have a leaning towards meditation and spiritual wisdom.
Excessive Energy at the Throat Chakra
Excessive energy here can lead to arrogance, self-righteousness, a dogmatic
nature and excessive talking.
Deficient Energy at the Throat Chakra
Deficient energy here can make us scared, timid, inconsistent, unreliable,
devious, manipulative and afraid of sex.
